Crossly Heath School Projects

I'm Sophie Murch and I'm the leader of this years Interact group at Crossly Heath.  I've been asked to contact you about our charity work so far this year. I've attached a few photos we've taken of our charity work over the year and I've written a few paragraphs about what we've been doing.

This year at Crossly Heath has turned out to be a very successful one in terms of the charity work that we have been undertaking. Our team of charity officials have been working hard to get the whole school involved in raising money for a variety of causes including the British Heart Foundation, Breast Cancer Research and The Laura Crane Trust.
One of our favourite activities was helping out at the Maurice Jagger dinner in February organised by the Rotary Club for disabled people, where a group of our sixth formers acted as waiters for the night and had great fun chatting with the guests.

With reporters from the Halifax Courier attending, one of the biggest events at the school over the past year was the East meets West Fashion Show back in July. Organised by a group of girls in year twelve, students modelled clothes including saris, summer dresses, prom dresses and both Indian and Traditional Western wedding dresses. The money raised from selling tickets and from stalls in the interval was split between the Haiti Earthquake Appeal and NSPCC.

And it doesn’t stop at big events such as those above. Throughout the year our charity officials have been consistently arranging raffles and games to raise money for many different causes, including a volunteering trip to Peru that a group of our students are currently busy planning. We look forwards to continuing our work throughout the rest of the year and are already busy planning our next events.
 Kind regards,  Sophie Murch
